Good question! I wish I'd kept better track during the process, but this is roughly what I can remember:
* Initial Write Up: 5-10 hours
* Reading applications: ~10 hours
* Final Decisions: 5 hours
* Grantee Calls + Logistics: 5 hours
* Misc. Logistics: 5-10 hours
* Total: ~30-40 hours
So the whole process took about a work week of focused effort, which is really not that much. I'm expecting to invest more time in writing up my lessons and helping facilitate the grantee process, which will probably shake out to another 40-80 hours of work.
These ideas are incredible! Great job to all the applicants and to yourself :)
I think weaving compassion for animals into cultural roots and the existing society's values/interests is incredibly important for lasting change.
These ideas are amazing, especially factoring in how inexpensive they are. I'm wondering how much time did you also invest into this process so far?

I really appreciate the info and all the time you put into this!
I love these experiments and pilots! It's so vital for scouting new frontiers for animal advocacy, particularly outside Europe and North America.
